Increasing levels of school enrolment and attendance

Carpets for Communities targets families with children who are at risk of child labour and human trafficking. Specifically children who are forgoing school to support the family. With the money the women earn from creating the carpets, they can relieve their children from work immediately and send them back to school. Our social workers in Cambodia help the families with this transition. We also partner with school teachers to monitor the children’s attendance. Securing educational opportunities for the children today translates to improved livelihoods in the future. Thus minimising the grapple of the poverty cycle.
