The Canberra chapter of Carpets for Communities was established in late 2011 and has since grown to a volunteer based of around 10-15 people, including events and market volunteers. We’re now recruiting to fill some additional positions. To apply or discuss any of the roles in more detail, email email@example.com
Manage and oversee the ACT volunteer operations of Carpets for Communities.
Role: This role is a leadership position reporting directly to the National Executive based in Cambodia. Key responsibilities include direction setting for the volunteer team, providing support and direction to the team as required, ensuring sustainability and growth, managing and contributing to all activities including retail and market sales avenues and fundraising activities, recruitment and reporting.
The role of the Retail Coordinator in Canberra is to build a retail base, allowing for regular carpet sales through methods other than markets.
The role will include approaching potential new retailers to discuss the products, showing products to retailers, and following up with those retailers. Once retailers are ‘established’, you will be responsible for the continual management and maintenance of those retailers, including the provision of stock, overseeing invoicing and reporting to the Executive team on retail performance.
By giving engaging and informative presentations which encourage sales at Carpet Parties, Carpet Party Hosts ensure financial stability and growth, allowing us to expand our work in Cambodia and introduce more families into our project; more mothers are empowered to break the cycle of poverty, more children previously at risk of child labour or trafficking are returned to school, and more families can be provided with hope for the future.
Carpet sales ensure the financial sustainability of our entire project! The income generated by each market allows Carpets for Communities to continue empowering Cambodian mothers to break the cycle of poverty, and to return their children, previously at risk of child labour and trafficking, to school. By ensuring sales growth at a market, Market Coordinators allow Carpets for Communities to involve
more families in our project, providing them with a hopeful future.
